After the leak, Activision has officially announced Guitar Hero Live with its reveal trailer.
Guitar Hero Live is a reboot of the franchise and will not be compatible with any of the plastic guitars. Instead it will use a new guitar that looks a lot more realistic than the old ones.
As the leak told, the controller has two rows of three buttons but the basic gist of the gameplay is still the same. You’ve still got a highway scrolling down the screen at you, telling you when you have to play each and every note or strum, but this time there’s only three columns instead of five.
The idea is that novice players can play with just the bottom three buttons, with more experienced players moving up to pressing multiple buttons at once, as if they’re playing real chords.
The leak was also right about the first person view, although it will use live action footage of the crowd who will react to how well you play.
The full track playlist hasn't been confirmed, but it will include The Black Keys, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Gary Clark, Jr., Green Day, Ed Sheeran, The War on Drugs, The Killers, Skrillex, The Rolling Stones, The Lumineers, Pierce the Veil, and Blitz Kids.
And a new Rock Band this year.
They’ve already taken the story down, and it never seemed to have any pictures, but it names the game as Guitar Hero Live and reveals it is played from a first person view.
Instead of the iconic colored buttons on the guitar there will be two rows of black and white ones, which seems to be part of an attempt to make the game seem more realistic.
The game will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox One, and PlayStation4, with a hardware bundle that includes the game and the guitar for £89.99.
