You will need,
Filezilla-
Ethernet cord-
Laptop-
Ps3-

On your PC, Go ahead and right click your start icon, and select network connections. Now, select Change adapter options. Right click your wireless network adapter(usually wifi), and select properties.
Select the sharing tab, and check the box, Allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection. In the drop box, select your ethernet adapter(Usually Ethernet) and select ok..

Hook up the ethernet cord from your pc, to your ps3. On your PS3, Go to settings--Network settings--internet connection settings...Select Custom--Wired connection--Auto Detect--Automatic---Do Not Set--Automatic---Automatic---Do Not Use---Enable.... Test
The ps3 should obtain an ip address

With this method, i'm able to transfer 15-20gb games within an hour, to my ps3 through filezilla. So if you have any issues, just comment and ill help you.
