Granted, however does that mean they can't do it? If anyone could do so I would think it would have to be "the best of the best" working together. If PS3 is going offline, how else will they continue to make money for "nothing"

Perhaps when and if the PS3 "dies" these guys coding menus for money will concentrate on jailbreaking the ps4 :okay: I need a reason to buy one and so far there isn't a good one IMO.

There are millions who either can't afford to upgrade to Ps4, or simply refuse to do so. I can't see Sony abandoning all those people...but I admit you could be right.

I sure hope not. I like this site just the way it is. There are already tons of sites for PC modding. CONSOLE crunch should be for CONSOLES? Just me maybe.

Maybe so, but look at the sb all you see is "post a CID" , "Can someone help me with my ps3" "Why can't I get x to connect to ccapi" there are a large number of PS3 guys here. Just saying.

Please give me 3 months notice if possible so I do not renew my premium membership if this happens. Thanks. The reason I joined is for ps3 modding, so for me that's my main reason for paying for a membership. If we "transition" away from modding ps3 I guess I will have to go back to NGU.

What is it about OFW that is lacking in CFW then? Because you do not need an e3 to upgrade. Is there some type of code that the ps3 can read to know it's OFW vs CFW?

So, if I happened to buy a PS3 that may have been sitting on the store shelves for a while, it could be at a lower firmware than 4.70, since 4.70 just came out. If the ps3 had 4.50 or lower from the factory, is it possible to install a 4.55 or higher CFW over it, thereby jailbreaking the console?
