- Requirements
- Empty USB drive (8 GB or larger)
- Yosemite-Zone & Transmac
- An existing Windows computer/Mac/Linux
- For this tutorial i'm going only cover the windows method.
Part 1: Creating the Hackintosh USB.
Insert your USB drive into your computer (Preferably USB 3.0), and open TransMac as an admin. Locate your drive on the panel on the left. Right click on the USB drive, and click Format Disk for Mac. Once the USB drive is done formatting, right-click it again and click Restore with Disk Image. A windows will pop up asking you to select a DMG, choose your Yosemite Zone disk image file that you just downloaded.
Part 2: Preparing your Hackintosh.
- Connect using DVI for desktops only, hackintosh tends to give issues for HDMI & VGA users.
- Unplug any extra USBs & Hard drives
- Reboot your system into the BIOS. (Varies between PCs most common DEL or F12)
- Reset your bios to factory defaults.
- Set the USB drive as the main boot priority.
- If your CPU supports VT-d, disable it.
- If your system has CFG-Lock, disable it.
- If your system has Secure Boot Mode, disable it.
- If your system has OS Type, set it to Other OS.
- Save and exit with the USB in.
Part 3: Booting your Hackintosh
Your computer should have booted from the USB drive instead of booting from windows. You will then be able to view the Chameleon menu. For AMD users use "/amd", "/amd32", "/amd64", or "/amdfx" without the quotation marks. Make sure you only use one boot flag for the kernel use or else you can cause a kernel panic. You never know what boot flags you may need so its all based off research and failing allot. For everyone type in -v and press enter. This will enable verbose mode which is very helpful when your trying to make a successful build.
Part 4: Installing your Hackintosh
Once you see the language screen continue on tell you see the hard drive selection screen. On the upper right hand corner you want to select Disk utility and erase your Hard drive to Journaled. Once that's done you will go back to the Hard drive selection screen and click customize and customize it. (Varies between PC) Intel users change the boot loader to Clover and AMD users use chameleon. Then install your Hackintosh.
(Some kext maybe needed very few wireless cards are support so use at your own risk!)
I do not take any credit for the development of Transmac nor Yosemite-Zone.
