Dark Comet Remover will only remove Dark Comet related RATs I believe. I'd suggest using Malware bytes for scanning your computer for any malware. Also if you know you have been ratted disconnect your computer from the internet and try to remove all RATs from your computer, but if you are unable to do so just factory reset the computer or reinstall your Operating System.

if you suspect your PC has been infected with this sort of thing, there is a few methods you can use from locating the file and removing it manually, or just formatting your whole PC and reinstalling all your files back from a backup from a time your PC was not infected. If the rat was implanted by a skilled Ratter or whatever you wanna call it, the trojan may have the potential to survive the restore process. "(wouldnt doubt this at all)"

you can also install your OS from a CD or live usb drive. but you will need your product key to activate your system back if on windows or something.

if thats too much work, disable your internet connection completley and sign on as administrator. Check task manager for anything suspicious and kill the process. right click and "open file location" to determine rather or not the file is legit microsoft verified. the signatures can be forged to represent as if it were a legitimate file, so you can always throw the file in HxD editors and check for anything suspicous... words like "server" and "remote" or something like that you might see.

kill the process and you should be ok, but with these things you can never be too sure.

just use common since, and run AV to remove any thing fishy.

Note: if the file was implanted by someone so called skilled, it may not show up to common AV.

As Zrathex stated that the dark comet rat remover will remove all of dark comet rat in memory, but there are also alot of tweaked versions of dark comet RAT, the remover may or may not detect it. with that being said, there also is many many Remote Administration tools other than Dark Comet. so your best bet it to not download shady files to begin with, and have a good AV, (Free)
