Their are lots of ways that a user can Improve the performance of their pc without having to go out and buy new hardware.
One of the applications i use is uniblue blue power suite, it cleans registry errors, defrags the disk drive, kills unused processes, updates drivers and more.

If you find that your pc is still slow i suggest you run a virus scan and if that doesn't detect anything then you might want to consider upgrading your pcs hardware
