Like the title suggests:
Open Source - The program's source code is open to the public to view.
Close Source - The program's source code is not open to the public to view.

I personally like Open Source software because I am able to read the code that is being executed. Also, I like Open Source because it gives me the ability to skim through the code to find any vulnerabilities that can be exploited.
