Hello CC, Today im going to talk how to take countermeasures against Bitminers.
The most obvious thing a bitminer would do to a PC is using his max power, in other words using all your CPU and GPU. This would cause a real perfomance loss to your pc which would range from PC being less responsive, really low FPS while gaiming to even burning your CPU or GPU, if your cooling systen is not that good.
First method is for the PC adventurers, who like to fix their PC manually.
Sometimes It's really easy to check if a PC is infected with a Bitminer. Using Task Manager you can identify which strange or unfimiliar program is using 100% of your CPU or GPU, even when your PC is idle.
This is an example of a Bitminer. It might look like a normal program, but you can see that it is using some CPU. In fact, the Miner is using GPU power. Unfortunately, in this photo we can't see GPU Usage, but with the new Windows update, Task Manager has included this feature.
As you can see, the updated version includes this categories: GPU and GPU Engine.
After you find the Bitminer, you right click on it and press Open File Location. This will open the "virus home". Now we are "The Police" breaking into "Criminal's shelter". Now you need to find the file and delete it and you just neutralized the enemy.
If for some reasons the file won't be deleted, be sure to close the Bitminer in the Task Manager, or restart PC and try again.
