Some great news has come to my attention and i would like to share it with everyone!
When viewing the PlayStation store you'll notice that some ps3 games have started to appear on the store, the listings have appeared due to a recent patent release. Filed by the architect, Mark Cerny, titled "backward compatibility through the use of spoof clock and fine grain frequency control". this has naturally convinced many people that Sony has finally developed a solution for older titles and could soon expand PS5's backwards compatibility support!
It also arrives following a bloomberg report from December, who claimed that an Xbox game pass competitor service is being worked on by Sony! this new services will soon to be called "spartacus" and will combine the current PlayStation plus and PlayStation now services, phasing out the branding of the latter! it is expected to launch for PS4 and Ps5 and be structured across 3 payment tiers.
This first tier will reportedly included existing PlayStation plus benefits such as online play and free monthly titles. the second will offer a large catalogue of games similar too Microsoft game pass service. the third tier will add extended demos, game streaming and a library of classic ps1,ps2,ps3 and even PSP games!
This is all super exciting news as this would quickly climb Sony a lot higher on the ladder! and not to mention that this will add a lot more experience to your consoles and bring more excitement to your eyes!
at the time of publishing this, users have been unable to purchase a ps3 game from the PS5 store. the listings could be an error but it still shows some form of Sony working on this! i think we all are looking forward to seeing what Sony has planned for the future and its consoles! And I think we all should be excited to see this come in the near future!
