PS3 Update Loop 99% (new hard drive installation) Please Help

Hi guys, This is my first post on this site
Anyway, yesterday i was up****** my Rebug 4.46.1 DEX PS3 to 4.50 PS3Ita through the XMB, it turns it was a corrupted file (facepalm). now when it was installing the firmware it froze on 99%, for hours i even left it over night still stayed on 99% so i realize i need a new HDD which i will be getting soon, When i install the new HDD (its a hdd from ofw 4.55) do i need to have the dex 3.55 downgrader on my usb or rebug 4.46.1 or ps3 ita 4.50. Also is it safe to use this Hard drive which has been on an ofw will it un jailbreak my ps3?

The hdd gets formated because the console information on the hdd and the nor doesn't match. So you will be able to put any (I guess) dex cfw of your choice.

If you put the HDD in it will ask to format the HDD, this shouldn't unjailbreak.
