HELLO
Questioned many times about a possible PlayStation 5, the president of Sony, Kaz Hirai, has dropped some avenues of reflection.
Sony President Kaz Hirai recently answered a few questions about Sony's future plans in an interview with Nikkei Asia. Here's what he had to say about a possible PlayStation 5.
"Our gaming subsidiary discusses the direction to follow, how to use a large platform like PlayStation in the future. In general, I do not think it is wise to drop the physical consoles entirely because we are looking for To offer the best platform in the world ".
Clearly, the president of Sony confirms that it will be entitled to a PlayStation 5, that it will be physical, and that it is currently the best way of broadcasting.
The important thing to remember is that Kaz Hirai is more inclined to push a platform rather than offering a virtual console to the Steam or PlayStation Now.
Faced with the success of the sales of the PlayStation 4, Sony clearly can not let go of this market which is one of the most profitable of the company.
With the launch of the much awaited Xbox Scorpio, we can think that Sony will probably announce the console that will succeed the generation of the PS4. The Tweaktown site would also have talked to a source at Sony who claims that the initiated project would not contain APUs like the PlayStation 4, but a dedicated GPU.
This means that the PS5 would probably have an architecture even closer to that of PCs with a CPU and an independent GPU to offer even more performance.
This source also confirms that this new console would not be published in 2018, further informing that there is to date no official report or internal leak on the subject.
Why would Sony have an interest in releasing a console while the PS4 sells very well, that its price positioning is consistent, that a price drop will not necessarily sell more console, and that it allows to engrenger still not bad Margin, now necessary and inseparable to the stability of the Sony group.
