Upgrades XP Windows 7 to Windows 7 professional ,any ideas??

Can I take off Windows 7xp on a PC and upgrade it to a normal Windows 7 professional or 8?

I don't see why not. I had a laptop on windows XP. Upgraded to ubuntu, then to win. 7.
