Hi to all guys. I know that there's other threads with the same discussion, but I would clarify a couple of things.
First of all, there's no way to avoid the ban at 100%, but our target is to make our accounts and IDs alive as long possible.
When you're new to Custom Firmware, I suggest you to use your principal account, ( your old account ) and not a new account. If you'll get a ban, the results probably will be the same : ID banned + all accounts in your system. So it's useless create a new account for trying to 'take alive' our principal account. An old account sometimes has less change of getting banned.
Your connection must be DISABLED for everything. We know that PS3 sends the log files to Sony when accessing to PSN, but how we can know if PS3 sends logs in other moments too? For safety, a disabled connection can avoid this. When you're using multiMAN, homebrews, installing pkg files, check always that your connection is disabled. When you're DONE , you can use PS Ninja or PSN Patch for avoid the ban. Then, enable connection and log in PSN.
I remember : if you use PS Ninja...
Press X button on : Wipe history, make history read only, clear web history, be seen again.
If you use PSN Patch...
Just press X or triangle button. The log files will be wiped, the CFW disabled ( until the next boot of course ).
Of course, don't use homebrews or install pkg files when you're online. Log off from PSN and disable connection ( or better, log off, disable connection and reboot ). Then, do what you want, use PS Ninja or PSN Patch and go online.
If in your /dev_hdd0/ you notice some strange folders, as PS2iso, I suggest you to use PSN Patch.
DON'T PLAT NEW GAMES if they weren't released yet.
DON'T HACK trophies. If you get a platinum with some hacks, if you sync your trophies, Sony can see that you got all trophies at the same time. This is risky for OFW, imagine in a CFW..
Of course don't access PS Home. In that game even the innocents get a ban. I don't know about PS Store, but I suggest to you to do the same thing.
Avoid inappropriate behaviors online, don't send offensive messages, and don't tell to your friends that you're in CFW. We can do this with a smartphone.
DON'T UPDATE GAMES if you signed in PSN. If you want to update a game, do the following ( method 2 is better ) :
1) Use PS Ninja or PSN Patch, enable connection, DON'T ACCESS PSN and boot the game. Then, update.
2) Use other programs for download game updates, like PSN Stuff. Then, move your .pkg files to your Ext HDD or pendrive and update the game OFFLINE.
DON'T USE HACK ONLINE!!!!!!!!!!! ( x 99 '!' ) : Unfortunately, people usually use hacks online, specially in HIGH RISK GAMES ( Ghosts, Black Ops II
).
Use hacks in game that you play offline. Other people at 99% will notice that you're ' special ' .
Reasons for don't mod Ghosts :
1) You'll get ban.
2) Same as N1
3) Same as N1 and N2
4) If you want mod the game, probably your private ID got a ban. So, you want to back online and play right? Then, simply don't hack the game. If your target is to back online, why you should do something risky and get a ban again?
Ok guys, for make an end for this thread : I installed Custom Firmware in August 2013 , and I only get a ban on 27 / 28 March 2014 ( accounts + ID ) and this is what I did before :
I started Black Ops II and updated the game while I was online. Then I stayed in the menu and after 10/15 minutes, the message of ban from the game appeared. They banned me from the game on 3 March, but not from PSN. On 22 March, I was still online, then I travelled and when I back home ( 28 March ) I found the ban as gift.
What's strange with this? On December 2013 I played the BLES ( ITA-SPAIN ) version of the game and updated OFFLINE. I used DLCs ENG-FRENCH. No ban guys.
Then on March I wanted to play BO II again and I used the ENG-FRENCH BLES ( because the ITA-SPAIN have problems with voices ecc.. of course ). Updated the game online, ( the folder PS2ISO was in dev_hdd, when on December it wasn't there ) and got the ban.
I played Ghosts online too, for months, and I didn't get the ban after it.
So, it's all in your hands. This thread is useful especially for who has private IDs, but I think that people with public ID too can found useful this.
If you have something to add, tell me! We have to fight vs Sony
