PlayStation 5 is already out in the market and PlayStation 4 is Sony's last-gen console. But still, there is a massive interest in PS4 development in the scene. Emulators are in their place and users who wished to run their homebrew on their PlayStation 4, now can do so on their firmware 7.55.
But the latest Jailbreak for firmware 9.00 was just released while the most updated firmware is 9.03.
Developer Sleirsgoevy brought this latest 9.0 WebKit to solve the issues reported by multiple users.
According to the developer, issues are just post-exploit glitches, and this 9.0 WebKit will help users to fix them.
But this is not gonna fix all the glitches and issues caused by the exploit.
So our suggestion is if anything goes wrong, just retry to Jailbreak your 9.00 PS4. That's your best option right now until something more stable comes up.
How to install the PS4 Jailbreak Update 9.00
● Make sure to update your files from the pOOBs4 GitHub when you're self-hosting the jailbreak.
● If you're using one of the several open-source hosts, make sure they're up to date.
● Also, Sleirsgoevy now hosts the Jailbreak on his GitHub, in case you were searching for a really secure host: https://sleirsgoevy.github.io/900-host/
If you want, once the Jailbreak is done you can use Mira, a CFW and homebrew driver for your PS4. It's up to you.
If you don't know how to do that then you can check this out on their official GitHub Site and learn the process.
As we already know this hack is not working on firmware 9.03 so if you buy a sealed PS4 now, it might be running on firmware 9.00 or older.
If you are a 7.55 firmware user, you may be tempted to update but don't do that. Wait until things are settled and you make sure that there is no scope for regressions. But if you are using firmware below 9.00, you still should wait and watch what happens next as the exploit is already confirmed to run on firmware older than 5.05.
