Battlefield 4 has been banned in China due to it's 'China Rising' DLC endangering "national security".
. . So, are you enjoying Battlefield 4? Well, the people of China aren't any longer. The popular FPS game from DICE has been banned in China, apparently for creating a form of cultural invasion.
. The games ban comes just before the 'China Rising' DLC is to be released to the world. If you're unaware, the 'China Rising' DLC is the games first Downloadable Content, the content is set on the chinese mainland, it contains new modes, maps, assignments, vehicles and weapons and follows the fictional story of Admiral Chang, who plans to overhaul the current government that's in power.
. Apparently the game has been given the category of 'illegal' because it "endangers national security and cultural aggression." Don't you think it's a little harsh to brand the game as 'illegal' over some DLC? Well, China's Ministry of Culture wants to ban Battlefield 4 completely, this includes plans to stop the sales of the game and all related downloads, patches, and news. So we can safely say, Battlefield 4 isn't appreciated over in China!
. Understandably, EA aren't commenting on the matter. However, what is there for them to comment on, really? Since the game wasn't originally available for sale in China anyway, so they weren't exactly shifting many units already.
