How to bypass game updates without using a patch blocker cfw only

I know this is really pointless now because nobody is on bypass, and well not many people even need to bypass game updates, but last night i was looking for a tut on how to so i could host a modded mw2 1.11 patch for my friend (hes on sex)

and anyways, i couldn't find one.

I saw one tutorial which said make your NP environment invalid or blank and i did that but i couldn't sign in.

So looking through the debug settings, i found "GameUpdate Impose Test"

I switched that on.


What this did was when you load up any game, or even homebrew it would say "new update was found 0.00"

I tested this on MW2 after installing 1.11, and it worked! You can just hit cancel, and it will keep you signed in


So if you're ever wanting to host a lobby for one of your friends, or for whatever fucking reason you need bypass you can use this.

Which is good because even 4.40 cfws and up cant use patch blockers anymore

So yeah, not very useful, but it can come in handy if you need it.

Install MW2 1.14 PKG.
Go into your FileManager and go into your MW2 directory.
Replace the patch_mp.ff with your modded one.
Delete the default_mp.self
Start the game.
You are now on 1.11 and don't have to update.

Umm you can just delete the default_mp.self from the 1.14 update

If you're talking about mw2, they can't unless they have a jailbroken ps3, the latest patch by mw2 disabled proxy servers i believe.
