i really want to get a cid and my friend has a ps3 that he doesn’t play anymore but it’s a super slim can I still get the cid from his console?

First of all, stop calling them CID's you're just furthering the confusion. To clarify IDPS and PSID are both "Console ID's". As you may know IDPS is used for authenticating with Sony and connecting to their servers to get on PSN, and the PSID is used for accounts. If you are banned by system with syscall sweeps you are banned by IDPS. If you are banned by account (by Sony), you can switch PSID's, create a new account, and get back online if you have a working IDPS.

To answer your question: Yes, you can definitely get the IDPS from it.

An opinion to your question: If you use it with CFW the chances of it being banned eventually are 100% no matter what you do with homebrew.
