Hello everyone, I will explain here how to make compatible and put an HD video file without re-encoding (of the style MKV 1080p for example) of more than 4GB on the internal HDD of your PS3, because the format of the HDD is in EXT3 format Linux that accepts big files !! ... And this without Jailbreak !! It's not that hard !! Follow this ...

First of all take this:

- eAC3toGUI: we will need it for the transcode from DTS to AC3 / link http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=483e9d29164ef2f3d5a101cf914073b417c134476594f301

TSMuxer: necessary to modify the video file (MKV in general) and extract especially the DTS if DTS there is / link:http://www.videohelp.com/download/tsMuxeR_1.10.6.zip

Step 1: Open TSMuxer. Make "Add" and go and get your video file (MKV or M2TS)

So you have your video file in the "tracks" area, the different tracks that make up your video file (you can have a video track (H264, MPEG ...) and several sound tracks (AC3, DTS, DTS-HD ... .) In this case, what we are interested in is the AC3 for PS3 compatibility, and you can also have subtitle tracks. In the tracks area you can add or delete sound tracks and subtitles. You have an English soundtrack in DTS and a French soundtrack in AC3 (the French we are interested in) so you can delete the English DTS track by selecting it and pressing "remove" on the right.

If you have tracks under titles, you can delete them, because the PS3 does not decode any subtitles included in a native video files (except if they are embedded in the video which would require re-encoding, but we do not care not here).

Once you have in TSMuxer your track HD video and your French sound track in AC3 we will be able to launch the "muxing". For this we will need a file in .M2TS for this in "outputs" we will not choose "M2TS muxing", but we will do a bluray structure. For this we will choose "Blu-Ray disk" in "output" and finally we select our target directory of recordings and we click on "start muxing". The "muxing" takes about 10 minutes (depending on your processor). You will therefore have a bluray structure. The file we are interested in is located in BDMV \ STREAM \ it will be called "00000.m2ts" (you can rename it as you want). And finally, you only have to turn on your PS3, launch PS3 Media Server, and copy the HD video file 1080p more than 4GB on the internal HDD of your PS3 ... It works, you can even put files Video bluray source of more than 30GB on your PS3 !!

For example, if you have a French soundtrack in DTS then you will have to extract it by checking only this one in the tracks area and of course click on demux in the "outputs" area below. And this is where eAC3to comes in

eac3to.jpg

In "source file" select your DTS track, in "AC3 bit-rate" put 640kbps, in "force filter" choose "Libav", then click convert.

Once your DTS track transcode to AC3, open a blank TSMuxer, choose your HD video file, delete in "tracks" the DTS sound track (s). To have your AC3 track click on "add" at the top right of TSMuxer, and go look for your AC3 sound track. Finally, do as at the end of step 1 (Once you have in TSMuxer your video track HD and your French sound track in AC3 we will be able to launch the "muxing" .To this we will have to target file A file in .M2TS for this in "outputs" we will not choose "M2TS muxing", but we will make a bluray structure. For this we will choose "Blu-Ray disk" in "output" Selecting our target directory of recordings and clicking on "start muxing." The muxing takes about 10 minutes (depending on your processor), so you will have a bluray structure. The file we are interested in is located in BDMV \ STREAM \ it will be called "00000.m2ts" (you can rename it as you like) And finally, you only have to turn on your PS3, launch PS3 Media Server, and copy the HD video file 1080p more 4GB on the internal HDD of your PS3 ... It works, you can even put bluray video files source of More than 30GB on your PS3 !!)
