Sony announced today that, based on player feedback, it will soon introduce a suite of "most-requested" social features to the PlayStation 4 through a system update in the coming weeks. Sony announced the news on the PlayStation Blog today and a breakdown of the new features coming to PS4 is below.

PS4 system update 1.70:

  • Adds a "rich video editor" to help you personalize video clips
  • Allows you to export to and save videos and screenshots to a USB drive
  • Adds an HDCP off option for capturing gameplay via HDMI
  • Introduces "a lot more"--will be announced in the future
