Will this work against them? I guess not though since you also have to log into there servers before you can change console iD's right?
Right, you would have to log in with the 32 zeros. And you can't. You also can't play any online game without sending your original cID. If you logged into psn with your original cID, and swapped it via ccapi, then try to play a game of ghosts and blops 2. It will tell you that the servers aren't available. So It's bs.
Sadly. If you want to protect your own cID, just don't use it online. That's why public's are given. For older games or games like Borderlands, publics are good enough. Use your own cID as less as possible.
