According to one of the moderators of the site Psxhax, Racer0018, there is now a way to launch Linux on the latest firmware 4.50 Beta available.

In a long message, he explains that they managed to launch Linux on the new Slim model of the PS4, and that they are looking for testers on the Phat model, of course, they are looking for a user with access to Beta.

Without going into too much detail, he explains that the developers in question will come together to choose this user who will receive a soldering kit with no less than 14 wires, Python scripts and probably a Rapsberry. You can already imagine the level of knowledge and technical qualities that must be obtained in order to be chosen, as well as the qualities of discretion and programming.

Racer0018 adds that the risk of cracking its console is present, between the risks linked to the welding of the 14 wires, the risks related to the brick pure and simple and informs that we are not talking about installation, just launching Linux. Private access to a dedicated server will also include information about the Wii U and the Xbox One, as these developers also work on other platforms.

In sum, let's hope that this phase of recruitment of this tester can bear fruit, if all this is true, it would mean that it is thus possible to date to launch Linux on firmware 4.50 Beta with a hardware solution, Beyond the limits imposed by the arrival of the latest firmware exceeding 4.06.
