Many will recall that the PlayStation 3 was launched for November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in the US and March 23, 2007 in Europe and as all good things have an end, Sony has just announced via Hachima Kikou that the firm would soon stop production of the PlayStation 3 console in Japan.

Sony has updated the official page of the console with a mention that production will soon finish in the country.

Although there is currently no information for the Western market, it is likely that the console will soon cease on this side of the ocean. We will keep you informed if we learn something relevant on the subject.

To be launched in November 2006, mass production had to start a few months ago, so we celebrate the 10 years of production, and since the production itself has not yet stopped deliveries will take place a few more weeks.
