Sony Still Supporting The PS3?

Sony, the makers of PlayStation, has stated that they will continue offering support and updates for ps3 consoles until there audience is done playing it. They have sold more than 80 million consoles worldwide, and this number is continuously growing.

They dont know how long their ps3 system will stay active, but if its any rate compared to ps2, it will last long into the ps4's lifespan. Sony also states that they will support 1st and third party, as long as people are still using the console.
