USING YOUR PSP TO UNBAN YOUR PS3 SYSTEM
Yes, it's official - you can now use your PSP to retreive a console id to unban your PS3 system. This is literally is the same as pulling a CID off a PS3, but the only difference is your using a PSP! Many people are taking advantage of this situation by using their PSPs to retreive fresh PSIDS. Additionally I will link a straight forward quoted tutorial from a hacker called Mr. Gas. Many people are doing this for the reason to get unbanned on their PS3 system, but is there any disadvantage of doing this? Well yes, there is. Which in straight foward terms means if you get the PSID banned on the custom firmware PS3, you will no longer have access to the PSN via your PSP, but many do not get put off by this factor as PSN in a lot of peoples eyes is useless on PSP. From a statement; "Well the IDPS was involved in some tasks like the Activation of Content and the PlayStation Network. It’s also a unique identifier of your console! If you ever uploaded your “ID Storage Dump” from your PSP, Unfortunately Bad Guys with a banned CFW PS3 could grab these IDPS’s now and could spoof your Console to get unbanned and go Online. Sony seems only to check if the IDPS was Valid and not which Device was beyond of this IDPS. In other words, a guy with a banned PS3 could take a PSP IDPS and use it to get “unbanned”. If they happen to do something wrong again, both their PS3 and your PSP will get banned. The key point of this is, when someone steal one if these IDPS and gets banned the PSP was too banned and a innocent user will be hurt hurt for it."
TUTORIAL (TEXT):
I will leave the tutorial as it originally was to decrease any confusion, also note once you pull IDPS from PSP, spoof and try to keep it unbanned as if gets banned, it will result in your PSP getting banned. I have also provited external links of videos that show this working:
1. Install IDStorage Manager in the PSP/GAME folder of your PSP (note: depending on the version you get, you will need to create a folder “IDStorage” in PSP/GAMES, and put the EBOOT.PBP file in it. also make sure the file is named EBOOT.PBP, and not FBOOT.PBP, rename it if needed)
2. Run IDStorage Manager from your PSP.
3. Run the dump.
4. Exit the app, and connect your PSP to your computer again, there will be a folder named “keys”, the file you want to open is named "0×0121.bin".
5. Open 0×0121.bin with an Hex editor, and grab the 16 bytes starting at address 0×60. Those 16 bytes are your PSP’s IDPS.
6. You can then use this value as the “spoof IDPS” entry on your PS3’s CFW (if it supports it) or any other Spoofer you typically use.
